Five short answers to the objections we hear from salon owners comparing KinkStock plans.
Solo Salon covers one chair and one stockroom with core features (backbar tracking, low-stock alerts, auto-reorder proposals). Boutique Retailer adds textured-product SKU modeling, multi-supplier management, the retail-vs-backbar inventory split you see in the feature list, and product-line disruption alerts. Chain layers multi-location inventory and cross-location reorder coordination on top of Boutique Retailer, with chain-level stock analytics and priority onboarding.
Yes — the dashboard is a responsive web app, not a separate native install. Open kinkstock.polsia.app in any phone browser; the alerts inbox, usage log, and product pages collapse to a single column under 900px (see the same breakpoint the pricing page uses). You don't need to ship anything from the App Store to use it on the floor.
Your products, locations, inventory rows, alerts, reorder events, and supplier history are all scoped to your account (the ownerId column on every row). If you cancel, we keep that data for 30 days so you can re-activate or export on request — after that we delete it on a one-hour purge. There is no 'pause' that erases anything silently.
Backbar is the product you consume in service — gel, relaxer, edge control, braiding hair — as opposed to what you sell retail. Each consumption is logged via /app/usage with a product, location, quantity, service type (braiding, locs, relaxer, etc.), and timestamp; every log row lives in the BackbarUsageEvent table. KinkStock compares those logs against purchase orders to surface waste % per product on the alerts dashboard, which is how the agent decides when to reorder.
Right now — the data model already supports it (the Location table and per-location inventory rows are live in your account the day you sign up), but the cross-location reorder coordination and chain-level analytics views are gated to chain-tier customers in private beta. Join the waitlist on the Chain card and we'll add you to the private beta cohort as we onboard.
